What makes Kindermusik of Charleston unique?
All of our Kindermusik Educators hold BA or BS degrees in music therapy, music education, elementary education, music performance, or business administration, and are trained and fully accredited by Kindermusik International.
What’s a Kindermusik class like?
Music studios around the world sprinkle in their own magic into every class, but you can count on a few key ingredients that make a Kindermusik experience stand out.
Welcoming your little one by name helps promote self-confidence and foster positive social interactions.
You’ll experience exciting themes with engaging songs, stories, movement prompts, and instruments to spark the imagination.
Educators explain what your child is learning in real time, and equip you with at-home music and activities to continue the experience and reinforce the joy in the car, yard, or wherever you are.
How do music and movement Supercharge Brain Power?
The combination of music and movement in one class offers a multi-sensory learning experience. Kindermusik activities are designed to enhance everything from physical development to social-emotional skills, while boosting school readiness.
Group musical play boosts healthy expression, empathy, relationship building, and inner balance.
Music education builds listening skills, promotes memory and recall, and strengthens executive function.
Playing instruments and mimicking fingerplays strengthen the hand muscles needed for critical tasks like writing.
Moving to music builds core strength, develops eye-hand coordination, and stimulates the vestibular system.
Group music making enhances the ability to follow directions, comprehend stories, and confidently answer questions.
Vocal play activities boost phonemic awareness, while singing familiar songs enhances vocabulary.
Group music classes develop vocal skills, music appreciation, and a foundation for formal music instruction.
Instrument play, movement, and pretend play help children become better problem solvers and innovative thinkers.
I can not say enough positive things about my family’s experience with Kindermusik! We have been enrolled in class for the last five years and both of my boys have grown so much through the structure of the program, while having so much fun. We look forward to music class every week. In our time at Kindermusik, we have had the pleasure of working with several teachers and everyone is incredible. They work very hard to tailor the class to the needs of your child and make every student feel special! It has also been a wonderful way to meet other mom friends in the community as well. Highly recommend signing up; we love them!!

We LOVE Kindermusik of Charleston!! My daughter has been enrolled since she was 8 weeks old (now almost 3 and new baby sister will be starting soon, too). It’s one of the best investments you can make in your child’s development, your bonding with them, teaching early music skills, and building community as a parent, hands down. All of the teachers are fantastic and over qualified (music therapists, professional musicians, teachers, etc). I can’t recommend them enough!!

We started taking our baby to Kindermusik at 4 months old and it’s been delightful to see her understand and enjoy the classes. Her face just lights up with wonder! Riley is incredible with the babies and we appreciate her so much!

These classes are the highlight of my week. The curriculum teaches you how to engage your baby and it’s so wonderful to see their world open up. Ms. Riley is a fantastic teacher and makes class so fun for little ones and their parents!

We have been attending Kindermusik classes in Mount Pleasant for about 9 months and we love it! Our two year old son loves the classes and is excited to go every week. He has a lot of fun but also seems to learn new things in class as well! I recommend these classes to everyone I know with babies and toddlers!

Both of my children have had phenomenal experiences in their Kindermusik classes. They helped my son blossom socially and find such confidence in expressing himself. The skills he gained were so helpful when he started school. The parent/baby class with my daughter has created so many treasured memories. The curriculums are all thoughtful, engaging, and educational. Polly is one-in-a-million and has been such a positive and nurturing figure in my children’s lives!

My daughter and I love Kindermusik of Charleston! We signed up just after moving to Mt. Pleasant in Jan 2022, and we have attended the Foundations class for babies and now the Our Time class for toddlers up to 3 years. We have had an amazing experience. As a former special ed teacher, I am so impressed by how research based the program is. I have learned how specific activities help my daughter’s brain and language development in different ways. I’ve also been so happy to watch my daughter progress in the class, first observing, then requesting Kindermusik songs at home, and now participating with more confidence. She has made friends and developed social skills in the class, which is very important to me since she does not attend daycare. Due to the program’s generous makeup policy, we’ve attended classes run by three different teachers, and each one of them has been fantastic. I so enjoy watching each of them bond with my daughter and interact with her in a way that feels tailored to her needs and personality. Signing up for Kindermusik is truly the most beneficial thing I’ve done for my daughter, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this program to any parent.

We love Kindermusik! My son and I have been going since he was three months old. Our teacher, Ms Polly, has a beautiful voice and makes the class dynamic and engaging. My son has learned a ton, from sign language to stomping his feet and he has a blast every week! We love the new books and instruments we get to take home each new unit too. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun way to get their baby or toddler out of the house to hang around other littles.

We love kindermusik! My 3 year old son is very shy, but comes out of his shell in class. He is always excited for music class, and he has a great time with the teacher and other students.

My one year old and I love this class and Ms. Riley! The class is a nice balance of structured activities and Freeform exploration/play!
~Cady Drummonds
My twin sons and I love Kindermusik!! The classes are engaging, fun, and have helped with my sons’ development. Riley Conklin is an amazing teacher and music therapist. She truly has taken the time to get to know my family. Kindermusik has also done a great job adapting to Covid and offers classes outside.

My daughter has been a part of this program for 2 years now and I can not say enough positive things about it! She loves going to class and talks about Miss Riley all week! This program has truly enhanced my child's love for music! She sings the songs from class at home, in the car, just about everywhere! The special way that Miss Riley interacts with all the children really shows how much she cares for them and fosters such a great learning experience. Kindermusik is the highlight of our week!

I can’t say enough good about Kindermusik of Charleston and about all of the instructors. We have worked closely with Sheila and Polly and they have made a huge impact on our family. They are able to teach our children in a way that is fun but also helps the truly learn musical concepts. Kindermusik is the best part of our week!

My 3 and 1/2 year old has been participating in Kindermusik since before he was 1! It is vital to children's development and will greatly enhance their music abilities when they start studying an instrument. We also enjoy all the music on the Kindermusik app that comes with the program. Very fun and knowledgable instructors, too!

We have been taking our granddaughter (now 2) to classes with Miss Polly for eight months. She LOVES the class and I feel like it is really helping her with her interaction with other children. I would give the program and teacher five stars. My reason for four stars is that we have had to drive from Park West to Daniel Island because the main campus is not handicapped accessible (definitely a violation of the ADA)
